The Sport d’Epoque Adventure starts in 2007, when Benoit D'Argenlieu realized that century-old sports jerseys are stunning, and all have a story to tell. Deciding to launch a brand that will tell these stories through redesigns, he then assembled a collection capturing these time-honored techniques and embroidery. His brother Geraud joined the venture in shortly after; helping Benoit further develop the collections and the brand. Their logo, two intertwined circles, was the symbol worn by all French athletes at the beginning of the 20th century.
Today, the brothers still offer quality vintage jerseys, but have also added a range of sports-inspired ready-to-wear items to their collections. When their designs are not direct replicas, they are nods to sports history. Each garment still tells a story, told on their label.
Locally Sourced Quality
Sport d’Epoque makes every effort to design products of great quality, and sources locally, allowing the brothers to guarantee the best quality and artisanal production. Their French workshop mainly produces the “vintage jerseys” through a partner with 100 years of experience in jersey-making. Starting with rugby shirts from the 1910’s and 1920’s, they came up with an exceptional jersey fabric that they still use today. Each production step is carried out locally in their workshop (dying, knitting, cuts, embroidery); yarn is the sole imported element. Their remaining products are made by a Portuguese partner; small family business who works with renowned, high-end womens’ and menswear brands.
