With decades of experience, Jean-Luc Bouriau refined a local classic when he launched Tcha: the Charentaise.
Enhanced with a touch of modernity, his line of slippers offers 3 advantages:
Ultra-premium, natural materials available in a wide range of colors: 100% natural merino wool felt, full grain nappa leather, leather suede, etc.
An ethical and responsible longstanding artisan technique, the regional, secret “stitch and return” process sews each piece of fabric inside out for flawless finishing touches, and a glue-free slipper retaining its fabric’s natural softness.
A unique, innovative comfort: a memory foam insole made of natural leather transcends the charentaise’s coziness and gives it its famous “cloud comfort”. It is removable, easily replaced, and washable.
Ideal for both winter and summer, indoors and outdoors, TCHA charentaises are available in 3 series: clean-cut colorful felt, cozy-chic 100% natural wool, or soft & resistant Nappa leather for an outdoor slipper mixing elegance and comfort.
A Renewed Classic
The Charentaise slipper is a flagship of French heritage. Born in the Charente region in the 17th century, it was, at that time entirely made of compressed felt, chosen for its waterproof properties, but also its comfort and warmth. In the early 20th century, a Charente shoemaker had the idea to outfit the slipper with a hard sole, making it the slipper we know today. As a traditional product, the Charentaise slipper benefits from the Protected Designation of Origin label, an official designation of quality and history. With its elegant cuts and comfortable insoles, Tcha has taken the best from 3 centuries of tradition to introduce the best Charentaise yet.
